CARNIVAL DAY EVENTS 

 ROAD CLOSURES: 9.00am to 10.00pm; THE HIGH STREET FROM THE JUNCTION WITH CHAPEL ROAD TO THE JUNCTION WTH RIVERSIDE ROAD.

  5.00pm TO 10.00pm; HIGH STREET, STATION ROAD, DEVONSHIRE ROAD, ARCADIA ROAD, DUNKIRK ROAD,ORCHARD ROAD,SILVER ROAD and RIVERSIDE ROAD.

  Every effort will be made to keep these road closures to the shortest time possible.

 

 10.30am:  BURNHAM BAKE OFF. Bring your bakes throughout the day. Judging after the raffle.

                  BOWLS at the Hillside Bowls Cub.

                                           
 
FOLLOWED BY DISPLAYS BY: St Marys Primary School

                                                  Southminster Primary School

 11.00am: STREET COLLECTIONS: Carnival Collecting Box Centre open at Curtis O'Boyle Estate Agents in the High Street. These are our main scource of fund raising. Get a box and collect all day or dress in fancy and join the Grand Illuminated Procession.

  12.00 till late: KIDS GO KART2 & MINATURE PONY CART RIDES. Taking place on the green by the Scout Hut.                                    

12.00 Approx:   999 COMPETITION.   Light hearted water based games between the Essex Police marine unit, The R.N.L.I., The Essex Fire and Rescue Service and the Essex Ambulance Service.

                                     NOT TO BE MISSED.

 

               RUGBY TOTS

 

        SHOP WINDOW DISPLAY. SHOPS THROUGHOUT THE TOWN DRESS THEIR WINDOWS FOR THE OCCASSION AND ARE JUDGED AT 12.00

      RAYLEIGH BRASS will entertain you with a selection of music at approx. 1.30pm                                                                                                                       

   .

     There are also STALLS AND SIDESHOWS throughout the length of the High Street and  on the Quay.

 

 

                    In the afternoon there will be:

 

  2.00pm:        CHILDRENS FANCY DRESS. (Details below)                                                                                                               

   Followed by:     SITARA'S:  Belly dancing group

                             BLUE FALCONS.  Gymnastic team.

                             EPIC DANCE.

                             SAINT FM ROADSHOW

   6.15pm: CARNIVAL DRAW. Your chance to win £250, a professional photo session with Williams Family photographers and many other prizes. Tickets available at outlets throughout the town and at our Kiosks on the day.

                                                    

   Followed by:  THE BURNHAM BAKE OFF JUDGING AND RESULTS.

                             MARTIAN KHANS will entertain you up to the procession.   

 

           
   7.30pm:       GRAND ILLUMINATED PROCESSION

                             Featuring The EPPING FOREST PIPE BAND, VARIOUS MAJORETTE TROUPES, AT LEAST TWELVE VISITING COURTS,NUMEROUS FLOATS, FANCY DRESS and of course

                                       "RAMPAGE"

                                     

 
   The route will be commencing from the High Street-Station Road into Devonshire Road-Arcadia Road- Dunkirk Road, Orchard Road, Riverside Road then onto the High Street for dispersal. Do not expect Station Road to be cleared before 2200.

 

 



FANCY DRESS DETAILS

 2.15 p.m.(approx) Children's Fancy Dress in the main arena, by the Clock Tower - just turn up!

Cash prizes for best in class: 

Under 8 years / 8 - 12 years / over 12 years / Groups Plus a  New category for this year - Decorated movable feature, with wheels.

 

Carnival Draw takes place on Carnival Stage 6.15pm the chance to Win £250 and many other prizes. Tickets available at outlets throughout the town and at our kiosks on the day

 

 And of course STEVENS FUNFAIR on Millfields from 2.00 and throughout the afternoon and evening.
